Praxis Content Exam Scores:
Praxis Professional School Counselor test measures whether entry-level school counselors have the standards-relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities believed necessary for competent professional practice. The test is designed to follow the ASCA School Counselor Professional Standards & Competencies. These standards and competencies provide an overview of the mindsets and behaviors school counselors must possess to meet the rigorous demands of the school counseling profession and the needs of students in grades pre-K through 12. *Note: Exam updated from 5421 to 5422 in 2022-2023 Academic Year.
Praxis Educational Leadership: Administration and Supervision (ELAS) test is designed to measure the extent to which entry-level school leaders demonstrate the standards-relevant knowledge and skills necessary for competent professional practice. The content of the ELAS assessment was defined by a national committee of expert practitioners and preparation faculty and confirmed by a national survey of the field.
Praxis School Superintendent Assessment measures whether entry-level superintendents demonstrate the standards-relevant knowledge and skills necessary for competent professional practice. The content of the SSA was defined by a national committee of expert practitioners and preparation faculty and confirmed by a national survey of the field. The SSA exam is aligned with the 2015 Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL) and the National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP) standards.
Praxis Reading Specialist test is intended primarily for persons who have advanced academic preparation and/or who are being considered for supervisory or instructional positions related to the teaching of reading instruction in grades K-12. The content is based largely on the 2017 Standards for the Preparation of Literacy Professionals created by the International Literacy Association. *Note: Exam updated from 5301 to 5302 in 2020-2021 Academic Year.
Praxis Special Education: Core Knowledge and Applications test is designed for examinees who plan to teach in a special education program at any grade level from preschool through grade 12. The questions on the test assess an examinee's knowledge of the basic principles of special education and the application of these principles to realistic situations. The content of this test is based largely on the Special Educator Professional Preparation Standards created by the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC).

Ethics Exam (Tier 1 program checkpoint - required for all students to pass on to next Tier of program)

'Closing the Gap' Data Project (Tier 2 program checkpoint - required for all students to pass on to next Tier of program) - projects are rated on a 5-point scale with the chart below displaying average scores for 22 students in the 2023 Spring semester.
Internship Final Evaluation (Tier 3 program checkpoint - final evaluation before recommendation for certification) - evaluation is completed by student's K-12 site supervisor and uses a 0-1-2 scale to measure criteria from the ASCA Management System/Accountability, Counseling and Skill Development, and Professional Behaviors categories. Charts below display average scores for 7 students in Fall 2022 and 24 students in Spring 2023.
Educational Leadership
Field Experience Assessment - students complete a self-evaluation and the student's K-12 collaborative mentor completes the same assessment every Fall and Spring semester throughout the two-year program. The 2022-23 Cadres included 103 total students, with average scores for Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 displayed below; scores are based on a 4-point scale.
Educational Leadership Outcome Self-Evaluation - students complete a self-evaluation based on the Educational Leadership Program Outcomes in the Spring semester of their final year. Charts below display the average score results from 85 second-year students, and the scores are based on a 4-point scale.
Educational Leadership School Improvement Project Evaluation - students complete a self-evaluation and program instructors also assess the student's School Improvement Project (SIP) in the Spring semester of their final year. Chart below displays the combined average score results for second year students from Spring 2023, and the scores are based on a 5-point scale.
Education Specialist
Data Analysis Project - students complete data analysis project and presentation in the second year of the 3-year Cadre program. Each area is scored on a 5-point scale and data displayed below encompasses results for 20 students enrolled in Cadre 9.
End of Program Student Self-Evaluation - students complete a self-evaluation in year 3, at the end of their program. Each area is scored on a 5-point scale and data displayed below encompasses average score results for 14 students enrolled in Cadre 8.
Reading Specialist Endorsement and Special Education Endorsement
Internship Impact on Student Learning Project - students participate in a case study project in their internship course for both the Reading Specialist and Special Education endorsement. Chart below displays average score results for 7 students combined from Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 sections of Reading Specialist Endorsement Internship course. Each area is scored on a 5-point scale.
