Technology Policies and Procedures
Technology Services develops and maintains the policies and procedures governing the secure, responsible, and effective use of Doane University’s technology resources.
These documents establish the University’s expectations for protecting institutional data, safeguarding information systems, supporting University operations, and complying with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual requirements.
The policies and procedures apply to faculty, staff, students, contractors, vendors, guests, and others authorized to use Doane University systems, accounts, networks, devices, applications, or institutional data.
Technology Policies
Technology policies establish the University’s requirements, governance, and guiding principles for the use and protection of technology resources.
Acceptable Use of Information Systems and Technology Policy
Defines the responsible, ethical, and appropriate use of University technology resources. The policy addresses user responsibilities, prohibited activities, security expectations, enforcement, and the use of systems, networks, accounts, devices, applications, cloud services, and institutional data.
Technology Information Security Policy
Establishes the University’s Information Security Program and governance framework for protecting institutional data and technology resources. The policy defines Doane University’s commitment to managing cybersecurity risk, maintaining regulatory compliance, and protecting information through administrative, technical, and physical safeguards.
Technology Procedures
Technology procedures provide the operational requirements and practices used to implement the University’s technology policies.
Acceptable Use of Information Systems and Technology Procedures
Provides detailed requirements for the day-to-day use of University technology resources, including account security, network access, software and hardware use, data handling, privacy, copyright compliance, artificial intelligence, computer labs, equipment checkout, and other user responsibilities.
Technology Information Security Procedures
Defines the operational security controls supporting Doane University’s Information Security Program. These procedures address governance, risk management, asset management, access control, data protection, vulnerability management, logging and monitoring, incident response, business continuity, vendor management, security awareness, and continuous improvement.

Suspected cybersecurity incidents, compromised accounts, lost devices, or unauthorized disclosures of University information should be reported to the Service Center as soon as possible.
