The Service Center is Doane University's help desk and the first level of support for all of Doane University's students, faculty, and staff. The Service Center supports and maintains all laptops, desktops, printers and computer labs, and tracks all assets. It is responsible for all cabling infrastructure, phone systems, personal computers, scanners, printers, and other office technology.
The Service Center also houses the Service Bureau, which provides print and copy services, mail services, and office supply purchasing.

PC hardware configuration, troubleshooting, consultation, reconfiguration, software installation, data recovery, anti-virus installation, field support for PCs, printers, scanners, voice, data and video cabling, phones, purchase tracking, installation of specialized software, print services, copy services, mail services, and office supply purchasing.

Access It
To setup your Doane account profile:
Go to https://react.doane.edu/react/. Under “Password Reset” section, click on Go to Reset Tool. Enter your Doane Username and click continue. Select Authenticate with E-mail and choose the non-Doane e-mail listed and click Send Pin. When you receive your PIN CODE enter it the in space provided and continue. You will now select 4 challenge questions and answers.The next step will ask you to create a new password for your Doane Account. Please follow the requirements listed and click reset, making sure you get green checkmarks for both your Doane Account and Doane Gmail.
Note: Should you decide to change your password, you will need to use https://react.doane.edu/react/. Under the “Password Reset” section, click on Go to Reset Tool. Enter your Doane Username and click continue. Select Authenticate with Challenge Questions and type in the answers you provided. You will create a new password on the next screen.
PASSWORD REQUIREMENTS:
Your password must meet 3 of the 4 following criteria:

Doane User ID:
- Uppercase letters (A-Z)
- Lowercase letters (a-z)
- Numeric characters (0-9)
- Non-alphabetic character (ie. !, $, #, %, *)
- Your key to most university resources is your user ID. It consists of two parts: your user name and your password. Your user name will be formatted as firstname.lastname (e.g. thomas.doane). Your password will be what you created on the https://react.doane.edu/react/ site.
Remember to treat this information like you would your most prized possession! This user ID allows access to systems containing YOUR information and it should be kept confidential!
Systems that use your user ID include: Doane Gmail, Netfiles, WebAdvisor, Canvas and lab machines.
Connect It
Wireless Network:
Doane University - This is the network for most, if not all, of your devices. Laptop, phone, tablet, etc. To join this network you will use firstname.lastname and your Doane password.
Doane Guest - This is a network for any guest on campus and with a single click to accept terms will get that device on the network.
Doane BYOD - This will be for devices that cannot connect to Doane University, streaming devices, gaming devices, etc. To get on this network, you must go to https://doaneguest.doane.edu/guest/auth_login.php login and register your device. Once registered, the page will display a device specific password to type in when joining this network. You can also get to this login page if you join the Doane Guest network then click login on the pop-up page.
Wired Network:
Doane University provides each student with one wired port in their dorm room in addition to their wireless access. This network is known as ResNet. There are certain restrictions on how you can use the network outlined in the Appropriate Use Policy.
Canvas:
Doane's learning management system is Canvas.
To access Canvas, go to doane.instructure.com. Log in using your Doane user ID.

Protect It
All computers should have an anti-virus program to help protect against software that can hijack your information. Doane uses Microsoft Security Essentials or Microsoft Defender to protect our machines. These programs come standard on most Windows machines, but can be downloaded for free at http://microsoft.com/en-us/safety/pc-security/microsoft-security-essentials.aspx.
We also recommend Malwarebytes available at http://malwarebytes.com/.
