PERSONAL STATEMENT
While you are walking across the stage and being hooded, we will read a personal statement written by you (limit of 50 words) in which you offer reflection on your journey or thank certain individuals. Please email this statement to Cate Sommervold by April 30.

REHEARSAL and CEREMONY
Graduates check-in outside of the Chab Weyers Education and Hixson Lied Art Building. Graduates begin lining up for the processional at 9:15 a.m. Graduation begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. and typically lasts an hour and a half. 

CAPS and GOWNS
Doctorate of Education graduates have two options to order tam (cap), gown, and hood. Graduates who anticipate only wearing the gown at Doane's ceremony, should order a disposable gown through Jostens. The web site is www.jostens.com (select Doane University, Lincoln, NE). The cost is approximately $90. Graduates whose jobs would require them to wear their gown for other occasions can order a higher quality gown through Willsie at www.willsieco.com/doctorate. The cost is approximately $125.

CELEBRATION
Following the graduation ceremony, there is a reception for Graduate Education graduates, hosted by Doane University, in the South Dining Room on the upper level of Perry Campus Center. The Graduate Education office will send details to all graduates early in the spring semester.
