Interesting Fact: I used to have a pet raccoon named Snoopy! |
Pets: I have a dog, Bear! He's a cross between a Blue Heeler and Hanging Tree Cowdog. He'll do any trick for a treat! |
Favorite Snack: Chips and salsa! |
How I Spend My Free Time: In my free time, you can find me spending time with family and friends, playing Pitch, fishing, wakeboarding/water skiing, reading, going for walks or runs, or doing crafts. |
Siblings: I have two brothers, Blake (27) and Spencer (24), and a sister, Kierra (16). |
Tiger Tidbit: I am one of the most indecisive people, so I didn't make the decision to come to Doane until late summer, just a few weeks before I began my freshman year. I had visited a lot of the GPAC schools but ended up choosing Doane because of how personal my experience here was. President Hughes called me a few times to check in on my college search and encouraged me to make Doane my home. The people here make Doane feel like family. |

Blair Souchek ’24 (Seward, NE)
School Activities: I am the Chair of the logistics and entertainment committee for Relay for Life, and a member of Omega Psi Theta sorority, concert band, pep band, and a Student Ambassador. |
Future Plans: In 10 years from now, I'd like to have my masters in educational administration and to become a principal or any sort of administrator in a school district. |
Interesting Fact: I share a birthday with my aunt. Also, my uncle taught the King of Jordan karate. |
Pets: I have a dog named Tinker that is a toy poodle. |
Favorite Snack: I like Oreos and milk. I like Oreos and milk because eating Oreos alone is too dry. You need some moisture up in that hizza. |
How I Spend My Free Time: In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy watching shows and movies. |
Siblings: I have three sisters - twin sisters Riley and Morgan (24) and Piper (16). |
Tiger Tidbit: I came to Doane because I had been in contact with the band director at the time, Dr. Jay Gilbert. Whenever I spoke with him, he made me feel as though Doane was going to be my home, and he made me feel comfortable while visiting Doane and considering Doane. While visiting, the education program also stood out to me. They emphasized their 4-year guarantee, which was also an appeal for me. |

Tiger Tidbit: I liked the opportunities that Doane gave its students, and it reminded me of my own high school. I had never visited the campus when I decided to come to Doane or even had been to Nebraska. I just knew that there was something different, and when I got here, it was everything I could have asked for! My professors and the Dean of the College of Business have made a true impact on my education so far and opened so many opportunities during my first two years here. |
