About Doane Relay

Relay for Life was created by the American Cancer Society as a fundraising movement to help communities combat cancer. Through funds and time given, and raised awareness our communities can rally together to fight cancer through this fun event.

Doane University was one of the first college campuses in the nation to have a Relay for Life event. Since then, Doane has made a name for itself within the High Plains division and nationally. For six years, Doane has been first in its division and the nation Per Capita Fundraising for colleges and universities between 1-3999 students. This annual event includes special ceremonies to honor survivors, remember those who have lost their battle, share information on new American Cancer Society services and build hope.

Nearly half of the student body, a large portion of the faculty and staff, and local community members come together to fight a disease that has touched their lives in one way or another. The planning committee works throughout the school year to increase attention on cancer risks, treatments and research through information booths and fundraising events.

Please join Doane University and Saline County achieve our goal to find a way to a cancer-free future. Find out how you can donate or get involved by visiting the Relay for Life website and social media channels, or e-mailing us at [email protected].
