Overview
The National Science Foundation’s Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) is designed to substantially increase the quantity and quality of students, especially minorities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Doane University belongs to a regional LSAMP program called the Iowa Illinois Nebraska STEM Partnership for Innovation in Research & Education (IINSPIRE).
Doane IINSPIRE LSAMP Activities
Doane University is particularly interested in recruiting and retaining underrepresented minority students in STEM fields by offering:
- a summer bridge program for high school students matriculating into Doane University with an interest in STEM fields
- semester and summer research internships with Doane faculty in STEM fields
- enhanced academic counseling during the year
