Doane and Northeast Community College (NECC) have come together to provide opportunities for NECC students to transfer and complete a bachelor’s degree at Doane University via the College of Arts & Sciences, or the College of Professional Studies.
This partnership applies towards all campuses and programs at Doane, and is only for new Doane students, (never taken a course at Doane) who have completed an associate-level degree from NECC after May 2014. Students have the option of taking evening classes at one of our CPS campuses, completing their bachelor degree online, or attending our Crete campus.
Benefits of Transferring
College of Arts & Sciences
Northeast transfers to the College of Arts & Sciences in Crete receive:
- An early advising and orientation program exclusively for transfer students.
- An annual $20,000 exclusive Northeast partnership grant, (replacing any other eligible Doane academic scholarship) for four (4) semesters assuming consecutive, continuous enrollment towards an undergraduate degree from Doane.
The Agribusiness program is an example of one of the seamless transitions students can have between the two universities. Northeast students who complete their Associates of Applied Science Degree in Agribusiness can easily transition to Doane and earn a Bachelor’s in Agribusiness.
Doane University accepts college-level academic credits from students in good academic standing, subject to:
- Remedial or developmental courses are non-transferable.
- Students will receive academic credit for transferable college-level courses without regard to instructional modality including online courses and programs, dual Enrollment credits, and Early College High School credits. Courses must be complete with a grade of “C-” or better.
