Xanaxu is part of The New Xanadu (TNX), an interdisciplinary reimagining of an art and literary magazine that has been published continuously since 1956 by the English department. TNX blends the traditions of Doane University's literary past with the interests and innovations of present faculty and students, to engage creators and creativity, in all its forms, across campus. This diverse community of students now manages a number ongoing initiatives, from a new Medical Humanities workshop known as Wounded Healers to a student podcast set to debut in 2023. In addition to publishing their work in Xanadu, students may also compete for multiple writing awards each year, made possible by a gift from the Marianne Clark Family.
