Professional Bio:
Dr. Judy Kawamoto has served as the Vice President for Student Affairs at Doane University since March 2022. Prior to Doane, she served in positions of increasing responsibility at The University of Akron, Central Connecticut State University, Bryant University, and West Chester University of Pennsylvania. A life-long Student Affairs professional and educator, Judy is passionate about creating experiences to promote student development, involvement, learning, retention and success. Judy is proud to be leading an exceptional team in the Division of Student Affairs, who partner with all areas of the institution to serve and support students.

Personal Background:
Born and raised in Omaha, Judy first became interested in Student Affairs through her roles as an Orientation Leader and Resident Assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She was blessed to be mentored by two legends in the higher education field: Dr. Sara Boatman and Dr. Robert D. Brown. With their encouragement, she began her career that includes work in a variety of institutional settings (public, private, residential, commuter), with student enrollments ranging from 3,000 to 30,000.
After many years away from her home state, Judy is thrilled to spend her free time with family. She is an animal lover, enjoys music and movies of all kinds, cooking and baking. She also volunteers at the Capital Humane Society.
