Meet some of our awesome LSAMP students and find out more about what they are doing!
Jordan Zonner '18, Biology major. Jordan will be participating in an undergraduate research experience at Cornell University this summer.
Jasmin Sandoval '18, Biology and Psychology double major. Jasmin will be working at the University of Nebraska Medical Center for the College of Public Health Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP). The program begins Monday, June 5, 2017 and runs 10 weeks. At the end of the 10 weeks, Jasmin will be presenting a poster about her summer research at a campus-wide summer undergraduate student poster session.
Helena Valquier-Flynn, '18, Biochemistry major. Helena has extensive research experience studying biofilm growth on different surfaces. She was recently nominated for the David Smith Research Memorial Award and presented her work on campus at MindExpo, competing against other nominees. This summer, she is continuing to characterize how pseudomonas aeruginosa grows on polycarbonate, glass, and SLIPS surfaces. Her senior research will investigate how the surface, shear, and other factors affect the shape and structure of the biofilm.
Jeniffer Caballero, '18, Biology major. Jeniffer also has extensive research experience growing biofilms as part of our CURB (Center for Undergraduate Research in Biofilms). Jeniffer is also a volunteer with the Crete Fire and Rescue Squad.
